How to remember?

Imagine that someone is standing in front of a truck. The part looks like the windscreen wiper.

Originally, this Kanji meant "cut" and "scrissors". But it has lost this meaning both in Japanese and Chinese.

The radical of this Kanji is (りっとう, meaning the "standing knife").

Do not confuse this Kanji with:

-which is always combined with 茶, i.e. 煎茶, to mean "sencha" (the most common kind of Japanese tea)

-which is "medicine", "chemical solution"
